Appraisal FAQs
Why do I need a jewelry appraisal?
The primary reason is insurance coverage. If your jewelry is lost, stolen, or damaged, standard homeowners' policies will not pay replacement costs unless you have a detailed, certified appraisal listing on file.
How long does it take to get an appraisal?
We typically complete appraisals within 24 to 48 hours. For security and peace of mind, we do not require you to leave your pieces; we can photograph and weigh them during a verbal appointment, then mail or email the completed certificate.
Do you charge a percentage of the jewelry's value?
No. Charging a percentage is an unethical practice. We charge a flat fee per item, meaning our valuations are independent and not artificially inflated.
